Iranian Trade and Commerce minister Mehdi Ghazanfari ordered to suspend the entire bilateral trade turnover with United Arabic Emirates, Mehr News Agency reported on Tuesday.
UAE is Iran's second major trade partner after China.
According to the latest data obtained from the United Arab Emirates' customs bodies, re-export trade between Iran and the UAE -- goods sent to the UAE for on-shipment to Iran, and Iranian goods sent to the UAE for on-shipment to other countries totaled 19.5 billion dirhams ($5.32 billion) for the first six months of this year compared to 14.3 billion dirhams the previous year.
The Iranian officials have not voiced their position and the reason of suspending the trade turnover.
