Some 4,000 oil specialists of Iran's Ministry of Oil currently work in other countries, Iranian parliament member Asadullah Abbasi said, ILNA reported.
Abbasi noted that Iranian specialists left Iran for outside jobs because of low salary that they were being paid in Iran. He added that attractive offers from other countries prompted local specialists to leave.
Earlier, a conservative Iranian website reported that Western countries were inviting Iranian specialists for work on purpose, to make them abandon Iran, leaving the sanctions-crippled country with as less number of specialists as possible.
According to the website, this plan would make Iran reconsider its development of nuclear program inside the country.
