Wall construction on the US-Mexico border may become relevant in the South Caucasus in the future, says Theodore Karasik, senior advisor to Gulf State Analytics.

“There are real advantages of having such a structure and using it as a test model for other borders,” Karasik told Trend Jan. 27 speaking of US President Donald Trump’s Jan. 25 order to construct a wall on US-Mexican border.

Karasik believes that with the wall in place, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance will become stronger and assist to forcing crime to near zero.

“The wall will become relevant in the coming years as a symbol of steps that must be taken to preserve national integrity,” he believes. “These methods and technologies will help secure borders and prevent smuggling and other illicit activity.”

Karasik added that there are US contractors who have expertise in building border control overseas, especially on the Arabian Peninsula.
