Chairman of the Ukrainian parliament Volodymyr Lytvyn will pay a visit to Azerbaijan on April 18-19, Ukraine's ambassador to Baku Alexander Mishchenko said at a press conference on Wednesday.
The arrangement of the visit was reached during a meeting between Chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ogtay Asadov and Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn, held during the 20th anniversary of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly in Almaty last month.
At that time, the sides noted that relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine are based on the traditionally friendly relations, which after gaining of independence reached level of strategic cooperation.
At the moment, there are high level relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine in virtually all spheres of life, including economy, culture, science, education, humanitarian and other. A number of economic programs has been successfully implemented, and in this respect there is great potential.
