ESET international antivirus company brings ESET NOD32 Mobile Security to Azerbaijani market to protect Android smartphones and tablets, the company said Tuesday.
The project's partner is the Lankon - a chain of shops, which is also an official dealer of the mobile operator Azercell.
Lankon's shops offer 'ESET NOD32 Mobile Security' solution along with a new Android smartphone or tablet, in order to protect the device. The license for the products' full version for a period of three months costs three manats.
ESET Marketing Director, Anna Sverdlova said the pilot project launched jointly with Lankon, is aimed at increasing the number of Azerbaijani mobile antivirus users, which in a long term period will help reduce the number of mobile hackers victims and the spread of malicious software.
ESET NOD32 Mobile Security for Android is an intelligent solution to protect smartphones and tablets.
The antivirus application also has such functions as Anti-theft, Anti-phishing and Anti-spam, thus providing a comprehensive mobile security.
Android operating system was installed on 78.4 percent of smartphones sold in the world in 2013.
This is the most popular platform that attracts both vendors and cybercriminals.
ESET virus laboratory said that in 2013 the number of malicious programs, targeting Android, increased by 63 percent, standing at 99 percent of known mobile malwares.
The official exchange rate on April 29 is 0.7843 AZN/USD.
