1,184,582 quadratic meters of the Azerbaijani territories was cleaned from mines in March 2006. 2,216 mines and unexploded ammunition (Р HS) were revealed and destroyed over this period, the Azerbaijan National Agency on Mine Action (ANAMA) told Trend .
22 mine-searching dogs, 138 sappers, 15 operators of Р HS, 8 doctors of acute care and around 100 workers were attracted to the operations.
23,811,240 quadratic meters was cleaned over the activities of ANAMA. The total number of found and neutralized mines and Р HS is 15,309.
From September 2001 48 people died as a result of explosions, 106 people got injured.
