Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr S. Ilhamgizi / Azerbaijani Dalga youth movement held a demonstration in front of the Baku Executive Power. They were protesting against tree felling and replacing them by artificial ones.
The protestors brought watering-pots and began watering decorative trees. Police officers broke the action and prevented the demonstrators from approaching the Executive Power. Ten protesters were detained and delivered to Police Office 9 in Baku Sabail district.
Human rights activist Elchin Behbudov visited the police office and met with its head. Behbudov was informed that the detained demonstrators would be released without fining. Other human rights activist telephoned the protesters, the chairman of Dalga Vafa Jafarova said to Trend.
The youth movement decided to hold a range of ecological arrangements this week.
