Turkmenistan, Ashkhabad, Dec. 12 /corr. Trend S.Gurbanov / The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev congratulated his Turkmenistan counterpart by telephone with regards to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov's neutrality day which was celebrated in Turkmenistan today, the press service reports. "Becoming the real factor of international policy, today the peacemaking potential of Turkmenistan serves the interests of strengthening peace, security and sustainable development in the region," Nazarbayev said, who wished the President and tpeople of Turkmenistan happiness and welfare.
In his turn, Berdimuhammadov congratulated his Kazakhstan counterpart on the coming large national holiday - Independence Day of Kazakhstan and wished Nazarbaye and entire people of the neighbor state new successes in the way of the sovereign development.
Exchange of opinions also took place on the urgent problems of inter-governmental co-operation, and also on several other questions, which are of mutual interest. Kazakhstan especially actively collaborates with Turkmenistan in the fuel-energy sphere and in the field of transport. In particular, Astana commenced to operate in two large-scale gas pipeline transnational projects on the delivery of Turkmen natural gas to the world markets - construction of the Caspian gas pipeline to Russia and pipeline to the People's Republic of China. Both routes pass through the Kazakhstan territory. Both states are also interested in jointing railway and automobile ways from Russia through Iran to Turkey and Europe.
