Azerbaijan, Baku, Aug.4 / Trend R.Hafizoglu /

Ankara will solve the Kurd problem in the country soon, Director of the Turkish International Strategic Research Organization, Sedat Laciner, told Trend over the telephone conversation.

Turkey will solve the Kurd problem in the country, Turkish Prime-Minister Rejeb Tayyib Erdogan said at a meeting of the ruling Justice and Development party (AKP). Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with leader of the Kurdish-supporting Democratic Society Party (DTP), Ahmet Turk. Erdogan considered the meeting as positive saying that the Kurds problem will be solved soon. Turk considered the meeting as start of dialogue between the parties. Leader of the Turkish main opposition, Republican People's Party (CHP), Deniz Baykal considered this meeting as authorities' discussions with supporters of terrorism in the country. Baykal demands the authorities to express its opinion towards Kurds openly.

Laciner considers that the country has PKK (Kurdistan Workers Party) problem connected with Kurds and also economic slump in the regions densely populated with Kurds.

It is difficult to solve these problems at once. However, AKP policy aimed at solving this problem will yield its fruits, Laciner said.

According to the expert, presence of the Kurd problem in the country is the mistake of previous government and Turkey will solve this problem through democracy.

PKK introduces itself as supporter of the Kurds using their problems. Settlement of the Kurd problem will weaken the PKK terrorist organization, Laciner added.

PKK terrorist organization's authority among Kurds is eroding due to the Turkish authorities' policy towards Kurds, Laciner said.

Both Kurds and Turks support the solution of this problem and are prepared for it, Laciner added.
