Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili is on a visit to France where he will meet his French counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy June 8, the Georgian Foreign Ministry told Trend.
The visit aims to deepen bilateral relations between France and Georgia, and facilitate a new stage of economic cooperation.
During his three-day visit, Saakashvili will meet French Prime Minister Francois Fillon and Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner.
The president also has scheduled an address June 8 at the Paris Institute of Political Studies. He will similarly attend the Georgian Culture Days in Paris.
Saakashvili arrived in Paris yesterday to attend the final match of the "Roland Garros" tennis tournament upon the invitation of the French government. After the match, Saakashvili and First Lady Sandra Roelofs met Spanish Queen Sofia.
