Flood in Pakistan became the most powerful one over the last 80 years. It affected 12 million people, Pakistan's National Disaster Management Authority head Nadeem Ahmed told media, RIA Novosti reported.
Monsoon rains caused heavy flooding in Pakistan. Thousands of houses were destroyed because of flood. Flow of water washed away entire villages in the most severely affected regions.
Doctors fear epidemics among residents of flooded areas and refugees who found shelter in temporary camps due to lack of clean drinking water and food. Several million people, who lost their livelihoods, need food.
