The complex of infectious diseases centers, including the National AIDS Prevention Center, will be opened in Ashgabat in early September, the Turkmen national television channel Altyn Asyr reported.
The complex will include a clinic center for prevention and treatment of tuberculosis, therapeutic -preventive center of infectious diseases, central dermatological and venereal clinic, blood center and a new network of central laboratories.
During the meeting with the Health and Medical Industries Ministry's leadership, President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov instructed to continue extensive work on the complete elimination of childhood diseases of measles and rubella together with the World Health Organization and UN Children's Fund (UNICEF).
The Turkmen leader demanded to pay special attention to promoting healthy lifestyle among the young generation to preserve the gene pool of the nation, and maintaining an uncompromising struggle against drug abuse and illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs.
In addition, the meeting stressed the need to finish construction of the center treatment of eye disease and the trauma center in time, keep construction of new building of sanatorium Yili Suv under control, and take the necessary measures for the reconstruction of health centers Mollakara, Berzengi and Dashoguz.
Berdimuhammedov instructed to properly prepare for the upcoming inauguration of the new building of the Turkmen State Medical University scheduled for Sept.1.
