Handbook published in Azerbaijan to prepare young people for parliamentary elections

The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan has prepared a handbook for young people who will vote in the parliamentary elections for the first time in Azerbaijan, Ministry's press-service told Trend on Friday.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan has prepared a handbook for young people who will vote in the parliamentary elections for the first time in Azerbaijan, Ministry's press-service told Trend on Friday.

The parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for November 7, 2010. Previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies.

The handbook reflects the speeches by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, history, the period of formation, activity, international contacts of the Azerbaijani Parliament and the Azerbaijani parliamentary system, the principles of the Parliament, the excerpts from the Azerbaijani Constitution and Electoral Code of Azerbaijan Republic.

The information also indicates that on Sept. 29 information seminars organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports began for young people, voting for the first time. Seminars will continue until October 27.

The main purpose of the seminars is to inform young people about the parliamentary elections, the legislative basis of the election and voting process.
