Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili is worried about two Georgian women detained in Malaysia, Georgian Presidential Spokesperson Manana Manjgaladze said today at a briefing.

"It is very important for the Georgian government to preserve the life of every citizen," she said. "The president thinks that there are still many questions in this case."

She added that the Georgian Foreign Ministry and the Georgian Embassy in Ukraine are actively involved in this process. They are working closely with the Malaysian representation in Georgia.

Daredjan Kokhtashvili and Babutse Gordadze were detained in Malaysia with a large quantity of drugs. The death penalty is envisaged for this crime in Malaysia.
