The high voter turnout is observed in repeated, additional and new municipal elections in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

More than 12.7 percent - 1,764 voters voted in Julfa region, the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, for the first two hours, the CEC information center "Elections" told Trend today.

About 11.49 percent of voters voted in Babak region, 11.2 percent in Sharur-Sadarak constituency, 10,04 percent in Shahbuz, 9.2 percent of the population in Sharur region.

The low turnout was registered in Khachmaz region - 3.1 percent and 3.3 percent in the third Sabunchi constituency. About 82 and 177 voters voted in these regions.

As of 10:00 am, voter turnout in repeated, additional and new municipal elections in Azerbaijan hits 6.89 percent (79,639 voters).

Voting in repeated, additional and new municipal elections started at 08:00.

About 1,550 candidates for 464 vacant seats were registered in 330 municipalities. There are approximately four candidates for each vacant seat.

About 9,923 people were registered as observers. About 1,155,864 voters will be able to take part in the elections.
