On September 28, U.S. Ambassador Richard Morningstar and his wife, Faith Morningstar, inaugurated this year's "Getting to Know the United States," a free, weekly lecture series at the Baku American Center, located at the Azerbaijan University of Languages.

The Morningstars held a "Town Hall," answering questions from the audience about American culture, the US.-Azerbaijani relationship, and their personal avocations and interests. More than 150 students attended, including 60 who watched on-line from the American Centers in Khachmaz and Salyan.

"I am so impressed by the intelligence of the Azerbaijani students I met today," Ambassador Morningstar said. "Their insightful questions and comments give me great faith in the future of Azerbaijan and the U.S.-Azerbaijani partnership."

"The American Center provides wonderful opportunities for all Azerbaijanis to learn about American culture, learn English, and find out how to study in the United States. I encourage everyone to take advantage of free programs like the Friday Speaker Series and to check out our books and movies for use at home," the Ambassador said.
