BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 31. A total of 65 new carriages (13 train sets) are scheduled to be produced and delivered to the Baku metro between 2024 and 2026, according to the agreement between Global Transport Solutions LLC and Baku Metro CJSC, Trend reports.
This information was provided to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev during an acquaintance with the new generation metro trains of Baku Metro CJSC assembled in Baku.
According to the agreement, 35 carriages (seven train sets) will be produced in 2024, 20 carriages (four train sets) in 2025, and 10 carriages (2 train sets) in 2026.
It was briefed that the “81-765 Б/766 Б” series train set is categorized as a fourth-generation model. The carriages are manufactured according to the technical specifications of Baku Metro CJSC, with their assembly conducted within the Baku metro system. This assembly process is conducted not on the basis of standard design envisaged for other metros but utilizes equipment and systems from leading European manufacturers, ensuring compliance with the highest technological standards.
Taking into account the complex relief, technical features, climate, and geological conditions of the capital city, attention was paid to meeting high safety requirements, reliability, longevity, production guarantee, efficiency, and other advantages of the equipment during its operation.
In this regard, nine contracts have been signed with these manufacturers to facilitate direct equipment delivery to Baku.
As a result, it is planned to complete the assembly of wagons in Baku and put them on the line, ensuring high quality standards.
