ISSUE OF POLITICAL PRISONERS FIRST WILL BE RESOLVED IN BAKU, MP SEYIDOV

If the summer session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe discusses the issue on �political prisoners’ in Azerbaijan, it will be resolved in favor of Azerbaijan, MP Samad Seyidov, the head of the Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation at the PACE, told Trend.

According to Seyidov, the release of two people, referred as вЂ�political prisoners’, in the court hall two days ago will gain positive image to Azerbaijan during the summer session. В"The memorandum signed by a recently established working group includes representatives from the authorities and law-defense organizations was submitted to the Council of Europe, as well as a rapporteur on Azerbaijan, Malcolm Bruce,” Seyidov underlined.

According to Seydov, the working group is keen on seriously scrutinizing not the issue of вЂ�political prisoners’, but the human rights in Azerbaijan. В"We want to resolve the issue in Azerbaijan not to including it in the agenda of the CE. Besides, a problem of human rights exists in many countries,” Seyidov underlined.

Along with the Azerbaijani parliamentary representatives to the PACE the working group also includes senior officials of the President’s Apparat and heads of several law-enforcement bodes (Eldar Zeynalov, Saida Gojamanly, Novella Jafaroglu, Chingiz Ganizada).
