The cooperation between the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Actions (ANAMA) and the European Command of the United States will continue hence, Nazim Ismayilov, the Director of ANAMA, said on Wednesday, Trend reports. He was commenting the results of the meeting with General Charles Wold, the head of the European Command of the US.
He noted that the Agency cooperated with the European Command of the United States over 4 years. In particular, the European Command of the US renders assistance to ANAMA in training of specialists on mine searching and neutralizing, as well as provides it with modern technique.
Despite shortness of Wolds visit to Baku (2 days) he desired to get familiar with the work of the Agency, Ismayilov underlined. He stressed that the guest expressed satisfaction with the work on formation of national potential in this sphere.
Ismayilov reported that besides Wold, the representative of the U.S. State Department arrived in Baku to participate in the ceremony of handing over 6 mine searching dogs. Training of dogs is related with great deal of financial expenses and no mine actions manage without them, he said. Ismayilov added that the Agency had 22 dogs till this time.
