Heydar Aliyev Education and Culture Center is being created in St Petersburg, Trend reports quoting Gudsi Osmanov, Azerbaijans Consul general in St Petersburg.
He said the St Petersburg power allotted a 5k m2 land in the center of the city for the said center.
В"I think this decision was the sign of respect to Azerbaijanis living here. A day of two ago head of Commission for governmental realty allocation of St Petersburg has issued the conclusion in this respect. It says В"Heydar Aliyev was the symbol of Azeri-Russian relations. Allocation of the building for Heydar Aliyev Education and Culture Center is a great honor for authorities of St PetersburgВ". The center will provide its services to children of nearly 300 thousand Azerbaijanis living in the city as well as to children of other nationalitiesВ", Azeri diplomat said.
Osmanov said the center opening is joint initiative of Azerbaijans general consulate and Azeri diaspora of St Petersburg. Azeri government upheld such an initiative.
Osmanov also said within a year the allotted building will be repaired and furnished. The building, consul said, is located near the mosque.
