Azerbaijan Marks a Day in Memory of Victims of 1932-1933 Lean Years in Ukraine
The Ukrainian Embassy to Azerbaijan is marking the day in memory of victims of the Lean Years of 1932-1933 in Ukraine. A requiem is expected to be organized in the Baku Orthodox Cathedral, a source in the Ukrainian Embassy in Baku told Trend.
According to a joint initiative of the Ukrainian Embassy and the leadership of the Baku Slavic University, a memorial event is devoted to the 73 rd anniversary of the tragedy.
Ukraine considers the lean years of 1932-1933 as the genocide committed towards Ukrainian people. Those years took life of millions of people. Terrible actions were carried out by the Soviet totalitarian regime which was aimed at the annihilation of the Ukrainian nation. But the Ukrainian people survived those dreadful times despite the man-hating policy of the totalitarian machinery and the silence of the World.
