Member of the Permanent Security and Defense Commission of Milli Majlis [Azerbaijan Parliament], MP Aydin Mirzazade, briefed the media that the December 20 meeting of the Commission focused on the amendments of technical character to the law On bases of drafting to military service, Trend reports.
The project, which was forwarded by the Presidential Administration and envisages a number of amendments to the military legislation, has been once discussed in the Commission. It was decided to discuss this question at the meetings of the Parliament, but later, these discussions were postponed.
According to Alizade, this project was not discussed in the Commission. The period of the military service of the people having higher education will not be increased, and the privileges for the people having three children and people who have invalid parent will remain in effect. Amendments to the legislation envisage extending the draft period from 20 to 30 days, and it carries a technical character, Alizade said.
