Cisco, the US Company is eager to expand co-operation with Azerbaijan. John Chambers, the Chairman of Cisco Managing Board, stated during a meeting with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, in Davos.
The meeting centered on the development of information technology in Azerbaijan; and Cisco's participation in the establishment of special economic zones in the country. Mr. Chambers stressed that the policy held in Azerbaijan in the past in the direction of development of information technology in some sectors of economy, have benefited by considerable support. Particularly, the establishment of new styles of information technology, special economic zones, investments in this sector and other issues.
In turn the Executive Director of the Dutch Company Shell, Jerun van der Vir, stated to a meeting with President Aliyev that his Company is interested in co-operation with Azerbaijan in the energy sector. President Aliyev appraised such intention and promised to give relevant instructions as soon as he returns to Azerbaijan.
