Collapsed Building Case-Court Trial to be Held in   Baku

Azerbaijan, Baku, 11 January / Trend corr. K.Zarbaliyeva / The court trial on the case -the collapse of the building in Baku, will be held in the Heinous Crime Court of Azerbaijan, the Court reports Trend on 11 January. The building -which was under construction by the Mutaffakir company, collapsed on 28 August at about 6:00pm. The five workers Emin Babayev, Aydin Ahmadov, Arzu Mammadov, Arif and Gabil Faziyevs died, and the four workers - Aziaga Akhundov, Ibrahim Ibrahimov, Ramil Nazarov and Rauf Aliyev got into the various traumatic conditions.

A criminal case has been filed, in accordance with the Articles 222.2 (violation of the safety regulations during the construction, mining and other work, resulting in death and injury) and Article 222.1 (violation of the safety regulations during the construction work) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. A preventative research group has been formed with the Prosecutor's Office and the Emergency Situations Ministry.

The Director General of the Mutaffakir construction company -Ali Muradov, the company's Engineer General -Askar Aliyev and Master Builders -Farhad Hasanov and Gadir Salimov, were all detained in connection with the incident. Each have been sentenced to three months of the imprisonment.

As per the information, the case concerning Muradov will be simplified because of his death during the process, which will be held under the chairmanship of the judge- Aflatun Gasimov.
