Court Appeal by Former Head of Barmek-Azerbaijan Rejected

Azerbaijan, Baku, 29 April / Trend corr. K.Zarbaliyeva / The court appeal by Huseyn Arabul, former President of the Barmek-Azerbaijan Electricity network CJSC, and six company officials was rejected, the Appeal Court of Baku reported to Trend on 29 April.

The Supreme Court has considered the appeal to transfer the case to the first instance court for consideration The Court did not approve the appeal and made a decision to transfer the case to the Appeals court for consideration.

The president of the company, Huseyn Arabul, is charged with contravening Articles 179.3.2 (appropriation and embezzlement), Article 308.2 (abuse of powers) and Article 313 (service falsification) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan and was given a written undertaking not to leave a place.

Employees of Barmek Limited Company, the vice-president Omer Guner, director of technical Department, Vafa Agayev, alternate director of technical Department, Mahir Novruzov, the former manager, Chingiz Ibadov, chief of Financial Department, Valeh Abdullayev and chief of the Department on Exploitation of High Voltage Networks, Chingiz Abdullayev, and chief of the Service of Relay Protection, Askar Askarzadeh, were all accused of contravening Article 179.3.2 and Article 313 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
