Azerbaijan, Baku, 6 June /corr. Trend News R.Ergun / The key problem of Azerbaijani national football team is the absence of players talented in using their left foot. "The key problem is the lack of left-wing football players. I would be very glad if the football players would play in defence and halfback and actively join the attack," said the chief trainer of national football team of Azerbaijan, German specialist Berty Fogts, in an interview to the official website of Azerbaijan Football Federations Association (AFFA).
The national team of Azerbaijan, headed by Berty Fogts, played two friendly matches during the visit. On 1 June, the team met with the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina where they gained victory with score 1:0. On 4 June, team bagged a 2:1win against Andorra.
Fogts said that the board of AFFA will try that the selection matches of the world championship against Wales, Liechtenstein and Finland are held in the stadium in Lankaran. "There is a need to increase the popularity of the national team amongst the football fans. Atmosphere in the stadium is very important for the football players. It gives an additional enthusiasm to them," the chief trainer added.
Azerbaijan national team will play its friendly matches in the stadiums named after Tofig Bahramov and Shafa.
Fogts expressed his confidence that German selection committee observed the national team of Azerbaijan in its match with Andorra. According to him, the players of team could join team of outsiders in the first and second league of the German championship.
