A preliminary review of group members' appeal accused in trying to blow up the Israeli embassy in Azerbaijan and the Gabala radar station has begun.

The Baku Court of Appeal held pre-trial review on appeal of the Lebanon citizens Ali Mohammed Karaki, Najimeddin Ali Hussein and the Azerbaijani citizens Javid Mammadov, Vidadi Rasulov, Mushvig Amanov and Afgan Balashov, accused of cooperation with terrorist organizations Hezbollah and Al Qaeda.

Judicial review is scheduled to April 7.

The foregoing people are charged with articles "high treason," "preparing for act of terrorism," "espionage" and others (in total with 13 articles) of the Criminal Code.

According to Heinous Crimes Court's verdict, Karaki Ali Muhammad and Najmeddin Ali Hussein were sentenced to 15 years imprisonment, Javid Mammadov and Afgan Balashov to 12 , Vidadi Rasulov to 14, Mushfig Amanov to 13.

They were detained in May 2008. Illegal Iranian passports were seized from the Lebanese citizens.

Karaki Ali Mohammad and Najmaddin Ali Huseyn were trained and sent to Azerbaijan by Hezbollah and Al-Qaeda leaders. They were tasked with blasting Israeli embassy in Azerbaijan and Gabala Radar Station.

The charged Azerbaijani citizens were to help them.
