Azerbaijan, Baku, July 8 / Trend T.Jafarov /

No changes in quotas and routes for Azerbaijani pilgrims leaving for the Hajj were made made.

"The Caucasus Muslim Office continues receiving documents. As in the past year, About 2,000 pilgrims are expected to visit the Hajj from Azerbaijan. Prices also remained virtually unchanged. The figure is $3,500 for pilgrims heading to Hajj by air and $2,500- by bus," CMO Spokesman Rahima Dadashova told Trend.

Dadashova said the route of buses has remained unchanged: Turkey, Syria, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. The Azerbaijani pilgrims will be able to visit holy places in Syria. She said an age limit for a pilgrimage was not set this year.

"There is no threat of the spread of major infectious diseases in 2010, the age limit for the pilgrims is not provided. However, vaccination will be made due to the risk of the seasonal flu. Every year, the CMO signs the protocol on the Hajj with the relevant Ministry of Saudi Arabia. The office operates under the rules reflected in this document," Dadashova said.
