A criminal case has been filed against a law enforcement agency employee in Azerbaijan.
Aftandil Babaev, formerly an investigator at the Goychay Regional Public Prosecutor's Office, has been dismissed from his post.
Babayev was fired on the basis of a Prosecutor General's Office decree dated Aug. 10. He is accused of numerous violations, including mishandling cases and forgery.
An investigation was conducted into Babayev's professional activity after the Prosecutor General's Office received a complaint from a Goychay resident, whose daughter had been found dead. The case had been handed over to Babayev.
The Prosecutor General's Office ordered the exhumation of the deceased woman, and shortly after determined that Babayev had falsified his autopsy report. Babayev's conclusion was overturned, and a criminal case was filed against the investigator.
