The Institute of Oriental Studies of the Azerbaijani National Academy will undertake studies in the Library of Alexandria in Egypt to find Azerbaijan's old maps, Institute director Govhar Bakhshaliyeva told Trend on Wednesday.
She added that she will visit Egypt in this regard.
Bakhshaliyeva stressed that there is information about Azerbaijan's ancient maps at the Library of Alexandria.
After these studies are completed, Azerbaijan's historical-geographic atlas will be published, Bakhshaliyeva said.
She added that she had found the maps refuting Armenian claims that the capital of the so-called "Great Armenia" was on the territory of Azerbaijani Askeran region.
