The representative of the State Committee for Work with Azerbaijanis Residing Abroad, Vagif Fatullayev, held a number of meetings with the heads of the Turkish community of Bulgaria. Fatullayev also visited Gardjaali City which is densely populated by the ethnic Turks, Trend reports.

We regularly meet with the Turks because as declared by the ex-President of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev We are one nation two states', Fatullayev stated, remembering that as a result of the rapprochement of the two diasporas, a joint meeting took place on 7 July 2006 in Antalia and a co-operation protocol was signed.

At the same time, the representative of the State Committee noted that the Azerbaijani side proposed to hold the next meeting of the Turkey and Azerbaijan lobby leaders in Baku in 2007. Preparations are already being carried out in this respect and my visit is linked with the upcoming meeting in Baku, Fatullayev said.
