Azeri National TV and Radio Council to Prolong License Period of Lider TV

On December 22, the National TV and Radio Council of Azerbaijan will consider the issue of prolonging the broadcasting license of Lider TV, Trend reports with reference to the same company. According to the information provided by the Council, three channels, Lider TV, Lankaran TV and Aygun TV, have remained in Azerbaijan, whose license issue has not been considered. During the next meeting of the Council, a decision will be made on prolonging the license period of Lider TV. The question of Lankaran TV and Aygun TV will be considered next year.

Discussions will be held at the meeting with regards to the transmission of the Russian satellite TV channel NTV+. This channel has been prohibited for transmission outside of Russia. The legal problems with its transmission in Azerbaijan should be discussed. In relation with this, the Council has forwarded an official appeal to NTV+.
