Condition of Azerbaijani Publicist, Injured by Skinheads in Moscow Improves

Russia, Moscow / corr. Trend R.Agayev / The well-known Azerbaijani publicist, Jafarsadig Abbasov, who became a victim in the attack of the Russian Skinheads, has been hospitalized in the City Clinic Hospital No 79 of Moscow with serious injuries.

The attack against Abbasov took place in the evening of 1 June. He was going to the Kantemirovsk metro station to meet his daughter and was brutally attacked by the Skinheads. "Near our building I saw fifth-teen young people approaching me. They quickly surrounded me. I incurred a strong blow. In response to my question "why", they struck my head. Later, I incurred numerous blows. I fell down as a result of the blows. Then I stood up and began calling for help. " Abbasov stated.

According to Abbasov, the call of an old man made them run away. "I am surprised that all these incidents take place before our eyes outside our homes. Many of them silently observed the incident from their balconies," Abasov said. The Chief of Surgical Department of the City Clinic Hospital No 79 of Moscow, Sabir Habibov , said that Jafarsadig Abbasov was hospitalized with abdominal injuries and strong bruises. "He was in a critical condition. Presently he has improved a little and his condition is assessed as average. By the end of the week, he will receive stationary treatment and depending on his condition, he will be transferred to ambulatory treatment," he added.

Habibov considers that Jafarsadig was lucky that the offenders did not kill him. Recently a Caucasian was killed by Skinheads with 32 knife wounds. However, the court brought justice.

Jafarsadig Abbasov questions "who can guarantee me that my daughter will not become a victim to Skinheads next time? Anyone could appear in my place. It is impossible to defended oneself at all times. There isn't such a case where the citizens of a democratic country are afraid of being murdered by the hands of wild young people. Presently all young people are against non-Russians. I have been living in Moscow for already 26 years, but I knew and chose to write about it, yet I did not think that I would become a victim myself," Abbasov said.
