President of Barmek-Azerbaijan Electricity Network LLC Refuses to Testify

Alizadeh / The trial of the President of the Barmek-Azerbaijan Electricity Network LLC, Huseyn Abdullayev, and 7 employees of the company was continued on 7 August at the Court on Serious Crimes presided by Judge Sadraddin Hajiyev, the attorney of Abdullayev, Vugar Khasayev, reported.

He noted that accused Vafa Aghayev and Valeh Zeynalov had testified at the trial. Both of them do not plead guilty.

The President of Barmek-Azerbaijan company refused to testify saying that he will speak after interrogation of the accused. The Vice-President of Barmek, Omar Guner Ismayil, and an employee of the company, Mahir Novruzov, also refused to testify at the trial.

The trial will be continued on 8 August at 11.00 a.m. where accused Askar Askarzadeh and Chingiz Abdullayev will testify.

The President of the Company, Huseyn Arabul, is charged in contravention of Article 179.3.2 (misappropriation and dissipation), Article 308.2 (abuse of power) and Article 313 (service falsification) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.

The employees of Barmek-Azerbaijan, Vice President, Omer Guner Ismayl, Director of Technical Department, Vafa Agayev, former General Manager, Chingiz Ibadov and others are accused of contravention of Articles 179.3.2 and 313 of the Criminal Code.
