BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. The total number of transactions through the e-commerce platform in Azerbaijan today is more than 527,400, co-founder of the Epoint startup Hasan Hasanov told Trend.
According to him, the average number of transactions is 65.24 manat ($38.3). Hasanov added that the total number of registered customers is 1,165.
Meanwhile, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has set a goal for 2024 to increase the share of non-cash payments in card transactions to 60 percent from the level of 55.6 percent in 2023.
"The objectives of the development of digital payments for 2024 include the following: an increase in the average annual number of non-cash transactions per person to 130 units (compared with 93 payments in 2023); achieving an increase in the share of instant payments in the national payment system to 5 percent," the information from CBA emphasizes.
To note, in 2024, it is planned to increase the share of non-cash payments in retail turnover to 25 percent. It is also expected that for digital banking, the percentage of customer transfers from current accounts will reach 83 percent, compared with 79.6 percent in 2023.
