Update on ski resort construction in Uzbekistan

The second stage of the project for the construction of the Amirsoy ski resort complex in Uzbekistan was approved, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.

To further develop and improve the efficiency of using the tourist potential of the Bostanlyk region, create favorable conditions for the wide attraction of local and foreign tourists to the region, and develop modern and high-quality infrastructure, JV Amirsoy LLC implemented the first stage of construction of Amirsoy ski resort in December 2019, which includes the arrangement of cable cars, ski slopes, and accommodation facilities.

Following the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan “On measures for the accelerated development of tourism by introducing a special management procedure in the Bostanlyk region”, the task was set to implement the second stage of construction of the Amirsoy ski resort complex.

For this purpose, the Government issued an order on the implementation of the second stage of the project for the construction of the Amirsoy ski resort complex at the expense of the initiator and foreign financial institutions attracted by the initiator, for a total amount of €75 million.

The project includes the construction of four restaurants with 2,400 seats, 4-star hotels with 105 rooms, 5-star hotels with 101 rooms, the construction of a multi-story car park for 500 cars with offices and retail space, and the construction of a cable car and two ski lifts, as well as 16.8 km of ski slopes.

Also, to ensure the timely implementation of this project, aimed at increasing the tourist attractiveness of the country, the State will assist in the construction of the necessary infrastructure and communications.

The initiator of the project, following the established procedure, is responsible for the preservation of unique valuable natural objects and complexes, the genetic fund of plants and animals, as well as prevention of the negative impact of activities on the environment, strict observance of the requirements of environmental legislation in the process of construction and installation works, and further operation of the project.

Amirsoy complex is located on 892 hectares and has 580 beds. The total cost is $100 million. The total length of tracks of various difficulty levels is 15 km, the height difference on the tracks is 660 meters.
