Armed Conflict in South Ossetia Not Influenced on Azerbaijani Bank’s Branch Operating in Georgia

Azerbaijan, Baku, 11 August / Trend corr. I.Khalilova / International Bank of Azerbaijan - Georgia (IBA - Georgia) continues operation on its previous regime and the Georgian- Ossetin conflict did not affect branch's operation, Rauf Agayev, the chief of IBA news- service stated.

"IBA daughter organization bases in Tbilisi and therefore, the military operations cause no danger to bank's operating," Agayev said.

IBA - Georgia is the bank resdent in the Georgian Republic with 100% foreign capital. The branch was established on 16 November 2006. The branch finances the Georgian part of the Baku- Tbilisi- Kars (BTK) and services the employees of the Baku- Tbilis- Ceyhan oil pipeline.

Bank's registered and paid authorized capital is 12mln laries (about $7mln). IBA - Georgia 75% shares belongs to Azerbaijani International Bank. Bank renders wide services for corporative and private customers as a universal bank.

On 11 August, the official currency rate is 0,8109 AZN/USD
