Azerbaijan, Baku, 27 August / Trend corr. U.Ismayilova / The Non Governmental Organizations (NGO) Council attached to Azerbaijani President allocated AZN6,000 to the Free Consumers Union to implement the "Consumer initiative to protect and vary bionature' project, Eyub Huseynov, Head of the Union, said.
"The project's implementation term is six months," Huseynov said. Project's key aim is to attract state and population to protect bionature.
Union will hold the International Convention to protect bionature. Azerbaijan joined Convention in 2000, as well as conditions of the Carthago protocol in 2005.
One of the main points in the project, according to Huseynov, is to regulate genetically modified object (GMO), which is envisaged in the 'State program to provide safety foods in Azerbaijan in 2008- 2015' approved by Azerbaijani President on 26 August.
NGO Free Consumers Union of Azerbaijan is a member of the World Food Organization, which has been operated in Azerbaijan since 1997.
