The Azerbaijani State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents uncovered shortcomings in the activities of 5 companies engaged in sugar, dairy and soft drink production, and submitted a written demand to the enterprises ordering them to cease operations.
"If they do not suspend their operations, appeals will be made to law enforcement agencies," the committee said.
The violators are sugar-producing enterprises belonging to Kamala Namazova (Lale), Tavakkul Mammadov, Elince (Sehirli Dad), Iki Qardas (Hacı Su) and Nofal Tagiyev.
The committee said the companies blatantly violate production regulations and technical standards. They do not carry out laboratory tests of finished products and are unsanitary.
The committee is the executive central body shaping and carrying out state policy in the field of the standardization, metrology, certification and protection of industrial property.
