Military aircraft, flying on the Brussels-Baku-Kandahar route, which made an emergency landing in Baku yesterday, is still in the territory of Azerbaijan, JSC "Azerbaijan Airlines" (AZAL) press service head Maharram Safarli said today.

Military aircraft, flying on the Brussels-Baku-Kandahar route, which made an emergency landing in Baku yesterday, is still in the territory of Azerbaijan, JSC "Azerbaijan Airlines" (AZAL) press service head Maharram Safarli said today.

Safarli said aircraft Hercules C-130 landed in Baku at 11:06 Baku time on Tuesday, and before that its filling was conducted at 09:50 hours in Baku. Emergency landing was conducted because of fire suspicious in the second engine during the flight over the territory of Turkmenistan.

"There was no problem when the aircraft landed," Safarli said.

He said eight crew members and 14 military men were on the board of the aircraft. At present, they are accommodated in the hotel.

Safarli didn't report details on repair works and the departure time of the aircraft, quoting the fact that aircraft is military.
