Kazakhstan, Georgia discuss prospects of cooperation

The Kazakh Transport and Communications Ministry hosted the 4th session of the Kazakh-Georgian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation.

At the meeting, a commission headed by Transport and Communications Minister Abelgazi Kussainov represented Kazakhstan and a delegation headed by Economic Development Minister Zurab Pololikashvili - Georgia.

The session discussed several issues in the areas of trade, transport, energy, agriculture, culture, sports and others.

"The meeting gives new impetus to development of the Kazakh-Georgian relations. Therefore, we can state the positive momentum and significant progress of cooperation in the framework of the intergovernmental commission," Kussainov said.

He added that concerted efforts will successfully integrate the ongoing projects that will contribute to the development of bilateral cooperation.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Kazakh ministries of transport and communications, and information, tourism and sports, foreign affairs and agriculture, as well as other public bodies, including large national and investment companies.

The Georgian delegation included Ambassador to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan Paata Kalandadze, representatives of the ministries of economic development, foreign affairs, agriculture and other government agencies and businesses structures of Georgia.
