The Turkmen Health and Medical Industry Ministry and the European Bureau of the World Health Organization (WHO) assessed preventive measures keep Turkmenistan a poliomyelitis-free company.

The organizations stated that Turkmenistan's preventive immunization activities and epidemiological controls are fully consistent with WHO requirements.

The ministry also said Turkmenistan is free of wild poliovirus transmission.

"The possible distribution of the virus minimized," WHO said in a statemen.

Vaccines and injection equipment are purchased by the state budget. Every child in Turkmenistan is receives a vaccination from this virus.
