World Bank President Robert Zoellick will travel to Bulgaria, Moldova and Latvia next week for meetings with leaders and business executives, the international lender said Friday, dpa reported.

During his five-day trip from Monday through August 13, Zoellick will hold discussions on the impact of the global economic crisis on Eastern Europe, one of the region's hit hardest by the downturn.

"I look forward to discussing with the governments of Bulgaria, Moldova and Latvia how the bank can continue to help drive economic recovery," Zoellick said in a statement.
