Passivity continues on Baku’s car market in July

Passivity typical for this season remained on car market of Baku also in July, Property Market Participants Public Organization's report said.

The tendency of passivity on the car market of Baku intensified over the past four months due to increase in proposals, further deepening the negative character of the dynamics of bargaining and having impact on the prices, the report said.

In July, 11.5-percent growth in proposals was observed on the car market, which is mainly provided by its growth on the secondary market. In July, a tendency of excess of proposals over demand has deepened, and there was a decrease in the number of those who appealed to sales centers. The dynamics of bargaining dropped by 2.7 percent due to reduction in the number of requests to the market.

Average price of a car in July amounted to 15,150 dollars, decreasing by 1.5 percent for a month.

The passivity also influenced the growth of period of car exhibition, which led to increase in risk levels. The liquidity ratio of car market in June reached its lowest level over the last three years.

In total more than 7450 cars were proposed to the market, 35.8 percent of which only was offered in July, the remaining 64.2 percent remained on the market from previous months.

The share of Mercedes-Benz cars, which leads on the car market of Baku already for three years, in July increased by 8.8 per cent and comprised 37.2 percent of the total portfolio market.
