In January-July, the volume of construction works increased by 25.7 percent compared to the same period of 2009, Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said.
The construction works conducted by the state companies comprised 27.4 percent and private companies -72.6 percent.
Some 72.7 percent of the total construction works, account for the primary construction, reconstruction and expansion, 18 percent- capital repair, 4.7 percent- current repair and 4.6 percent- other construction work.
In the first half-year, about 59,200 people were involved in the construction sector of Azerbaijan. During this period nominal wage level in the construction sector amounted to 496.7 manat, which is 11.8 percent more than January-July 2009. Nominal wage levels in state companies amounted to 351.5 manat (decreasing by 4.4 percent in a year), in private companies - 642.2 manat (increasing by 27.4 percent).
Nominal wage levels in big and medium construction companies amounted to 529.9 manat. The level of wages in the sphere of construction of buildings increased by 18.9 percent over the year and amounted to 540.8, in the specialized construction by one percent to 559.4 manat.
