Azerbaijan can establish sea passenger traffic with all Caspian countries

Sea ports of all five Caspian littoral states can start realization passenger traffic between themselves, a source in the Baku International Sea Trade Port said.
"There are intentions regarding the realization of passenger traffic between the Caspian ports, but this requires time," the source said.

According to him, it is not profitable, but it is necessary above all to strengthen the relationship between the littoral states. Also, the source noted that the issue of realization of sea passenger trips between the littoral states first of all requires presence of new vessels, passenger traffic and attraction of necessary investment.

Earlier Iranian side offered to resume passenger trip Anzali-Baku. This passenger line operated for a long time. In 1998 it was temporarily suspended. The question of its restoration was agreed between the state structures of Iran and Azerbaijan.

However, according to the source, the Iranian side doesn't show activity in connection with the start of passenger traffic in this direction.

As the source said earlier, Iran plans to realize passenger traffic to Baku from other Iranian ports - Amirabad and Noushehr.
