The Central Bank (CBA) toughens approach to regulate systemically important banks in the country, director of the CBA Center for Research and Development, Emin Huseynov, said.

"Based on the lessons of the global crisis, it is obvious that today it is impossible to apply equal approach to all banks in terms of prudential norms," he said.

He said that the Central Bank also closely and thoroughly consider the opportunities and feasibility of implementing a dynamic redundancy.

"These reserves will be created by banks smoothly, in a period of economic growth, to support the financial condition. So, they will not put pressure on capital and profit in a difficult economic period," Huseynov said.

The sum of total capital increased by 30 percent. It provided conditions for the preservation of active growth of banking operations.

During this period, banking assets increased by 20 percent and hit 12.4 billion manat, loans granted to economy and population - by 25 percent up to 8.8 billion manat.

"It deals with the fact that our banking system has withstood the test of the global crisis. But it is necessary to improve work on the basis of the lessons of the crisis in post-crisis period," Huseynov said.

About 15-20 of 47 banks existing today in the country are systemically important.
