Tashkent prepares for Azerbaijani national exhibition

Uzbekistan's largest exhibition complex Uzexpocentre is preparing to open an Azerbaijani national exhibition in Tashkent.

Azerbaijan will hold its first national exhibition in Tashkent on Nov. 5. The exhibition will be held on the basis of an agreement reached between the two counties' leaders during Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's visit to Uzbekistan in September.

The exhibition will cover an area of 4,550 square meters. The event is expected to be attended by Azerbaijani officials and more than 160 enterprises and organizations, Second Secretary of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Uzbekistan Sabuhi Ahmadov said.

Today, cars and machinery, oil and gas equipment and information and communications products are delivered to Uzbekistan by air, rail and road, he said.

According to Ahmadov, the exhibition will be the largest and first international exhibition demonsrtating the achievements of the Azerbaijani national economy.

The exhibition will show the country's achievements in socioeconomic development, energy, industry, communications and IT, transportation, agriculture, environment, tourism, culture, folk art, health, education, and sports and other social spheres, he added.

During the exhibition, entrepreneurs will hold meetings and mull joint projects. Azerbaijani and Uzbek companies are expected to sign several memorandums and agreements. Azerbaijani and Uzbek specialists are also preparing the exhibition's advertising campaign.
