According to the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee, vehicles transported 37,329 million tons of cargo in January-October or 8.43 percent more than the same period in 2009, the state committee said. Exports of goods in this period amounted to 31.047 million tons, imports - 6.282 million tons.
Some 282,900 tons of cargo was exported by maritime transport, 2.85 million tons - by railway, 454,000 tons - by cars and 195.100 tons - by air. The transportation via pipelines totaled 27.253 million tons.
Over 706,000 tons were imported by maritime transport, 4.24 million tons - by railway, 1.29 million tons - by cars and 18,000 tons - by air.
Over 7.75 million tons of cargo was transited through the territory of Azerbaijan for ten months. It is 43.32 percent or 2.345 million tons more than the same period in 2009.
Over 2.728 million tons were transported through Azerbaijan to Bermuda islands, Italy - 1.457 million tons, Switzerland - 1.38 million tons, Iran - 438,700 tons, Georgia - 476,100 tons, Tajikistan - 339,200 tons, Afghanistan - 344,400 tons, Russia - 177.000 tons, Turkmenistan - 150,500 tons, and Turkey - 127,800 tons.
