Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov demanded that the Health and Medical Industry Ministry develop the pharmaceutical industry.
At a recent working meeting, he reprimanded the ministry for failing to effectively manage sanitary surveillance, professional training and pharmaceutical product manufacturing.
He also demanded that the shortfalls be eliminated as soon as possible.
The pharmaceutical activity is associated with the development, production, storage and sale of drugs.
Turkmenistan cooperates with India in this sphere. Ajanta Pharmaceuticals and the ministry have
created a joint venture that produces over 80 types of medication.
Based on the plans, domestic pharmaceuticals should provide most of the country's needs.
